Bournemouth

Highlights:

Bournemouth is a perfect choice for a Summer Holiday. It is the largest seaside resort in Dorset with ‘Blue Flag’ beaches some of which benefit from the warmest sea temperatures in the UK. The iconic palm trees, parks & gardens, stunning cliff top views of the Isle of Wight and seven miles of unspoilt coastline all create a beautiful scene for a relaxing, almost continental style holiday.

Tour Itinerary

Day 1

Following our pick-ups this morning, we’ll travel to check-in for the 07:30 Stena sailing from Belfast to Cairnryan. We’ll then travel from Cairnryan through Castle Douglas and on to Gretna where we will have a lunchtime break before continuing our journey down the M6 motorway. We’ll make a further comfort stop at services as we make our way down to the 4-star Mercure Haydock Hotel, between Manchester and Liverpool. Here we will be accommodated overnight for dinner b&b. (Overnight bag recommended).

Day 2

Depart Hotel 10:00hrs
We’ll depart this morning to continue our journey south. We’ll make comfort breaks and a lunchtime stop en-route, but our stopping times very much depend on the flow of traffic on the motorway today. We are due to arrive in Bournemouth around 16:00hrs. This will give us time to settle into our hotel and enjoy the wonderful views of the miles of golden beaches. Hopefully fully relaxed we will enjoy our first evening meal together at the 4-star Cumberland Hotel, on Bournemouth’s prestigious East Cliff.

Day 3

Depart Hotel 10:00hrs
Today we will have an excursion to Poole. Poole is a quaint tourist resort and seaport which attracts visitors to see its large natural harbour. Here we will have free time. We’ll head back to our hotel for approximately 15:30 hrs.

Day 4

Depart Hotel 09:30hrs
Depart from the hotel for an excursion into the New Forest. The New Forest became a national park in 2005 and today the deer, ponies and cattle continue to roam free throughout this woodland – a ramblers’ paradise. The Forest is also rich in traditional country pubs, cosy tea rooms & fine restaurants. With timely
stops this is a relaxing day out with the feel of a ‘step back in time’. We’ll stop and visit the little town of Lyndhurst then we’ll move on and make a short photo stop in Beaulieu. We’ll then proceed down to Lymington for a little free time before heading back to our hotel.

Day 5

Free Day – Enjoy a walk on Bournemouth’s sandy beach – maybe paddle your toes! Perhaps a stroll in the
park where you can sit and relax. You might even catch a glimpse of the squirrels scurrying about.

Day 6

Free Day – Another free day to enjoy all that Bournemouth has to offer.

Day 7

Depart Hotel 09:00hrs
We’ll be leaving the hotel after breakfast to begin our journey North. Our comfort & lunch stops will be determined by the flow of traffic today as we travel North. We will have an overnight stop at the 4-star Marriott Hotel near Preston where we will be accommodated with dinner b&b. (Overnight bag recommended).

Day 8

Depart Hotel 09:30hrs
We’ll depart after breakfast to begin the next stages of our journey home. We’ll continue to travel North with comfort stops at services. We’ll make a final comfort stop at the Gretna Green tourist area, a great place to purchase any last-minute gifts and avail of the facilities. Moving on then, through Scotland to Cairnryan where we must check in for the 15:30hrs crossing home to Belfast. And it’s time to say our good-byes.
