The Isle of Man is an island in the British Isles, located in the Irish Sea between Great Britain and Ireland. It’s a popular destination and is known not only for the annual TT motorcycle racing event, but also for its rugged coastline, medieval castles and rural landscape. We will be staying in the capital town of the island, Douglas. From here we can easily explore the island whilst we also enjoy the buzz of this busy tourist town.

Mannin Hotel, Douglas

The new Mannin Hotel was built on the site of the original Mannin and Broadway hotels, dating back to 1880s. It has kept most of its Victorian heritage within the new build, along with incorporating some modern features. Opened in April 2016, it sets new standards in accommodation for visitors, whether on holiday or business and is conveniently located in the heart of Douglas, adjacent to Villa Marina & Gaiety Theatre.

Tour Itinerary

Day 1

Following our pick-ups this morning, we will travel to Belfast to board the 15:30hrs Stena Line ferry to Cairnryan. From Cairnryan, we’ll travel south making a quick comfort stop at Castle Douglas, if required, then swiftly continue our journey to Gretna. We’ll then join the motorway and travel down the M6 towards Morecambe where we will have an overnight stop at the Best Western Lothersdale Hotel. Here we will be accommodated for dinner, bed & breakfast. Our expected time of arrival will be 18.00hrs. (Overnight bag recommended).

Day 2

Depart Hotel 10:00hrs
This morning we will depart from our hotel and travel the short distance to Heysham where we must check in for the 14:15hrs ferry from Heysham to Douglas on the Isle of Man. This crossing takes approx 3.75hrs. We will be staying in the capital, the largest town on the island – Douglas. We’ll be based at the 4-Star Mannin
Hotel for 4 nights dinner, bed and breakfast. A great location from where we can explore this beautiful island.

Day 3

Depart Hotel 10:00hrs

Today you will be given a 3 Day Explorer Pass which will cover you for unlimited use on all island buses. trains, horse trams and electric trams, including the Snaefell Mountain. Please carry it each day as this is your ticket for the train rides you will be experiencing. (included in tour price)

Today we will be taking you to the electric interurban oldest tramway in the world, for a train journey which connects Douglas, Laxey and then Snaefell. but first we will have a short stop at Laxey. We will then move on to the train station for your first train journey. We are booked for the 11:15hrs journey from Laxey to Snaefell Summit and the 12:50 return from Snaefell to Laxey to meet your coach and then we can have free time in Laxey with time to view the Laxey wheel. It is a steep climb to the wheel, so we have not included admission. If you wish to go up to the wheel please speak with our driver on the day. Restaurant facilities are there for those not wishing to make the climb.

Day 4

Free Day

An ideal opportunity to explore the capital city and our host town of Douglas, or visit your favourite spot. Make good use of your 3 day travel pass! Go for a Horse Tram ride or perhaps visit the Manx Museum – North end of the Prom.

Day 5

Depart Hotel 10:00hrs

Today we’ll take you to the station for the 09:50hrs – 1 hr train ride to Port Erin inthe southof the island. Here you can enjoy free time. The Rail Museum here, is also free with your travel pass. Our driver will advise you what time to meet for the single journey back to Douglas on the Steam Railway or alternatively our coach will meet you at the station in Port Erin for the journey back to Douglas.

Day 6

Depart Hotel 07:30hrs
AN EARLY START TODAY as we begin the journey home. We’ll travel the short distance for the 08:45hrs ferry from Douglas back to Heysham. We then begin our journey north, with comfort stops dicatated by traffic. We’ll be travelling to Cairnryan where we must check-in for the 19:30hrs ferry back to Belfast. And it’s time to say our good-byes.
